2011 Last Day of May Bash

We are holding our Summer Bash a little earlier this year.  But the fun and games will be just the same. We'll have lots of games, Team Fortress, a Word Search (win a copy of my book) and lots of good stuff. Including Pizza. And cakes. If you want to come along you can get tickets from the Departmental Office from Thursday the 26th for a mere 2 pounds.

Today (Tuesday) is the last day to get your tickets. Pick them up before lunchtime for a chance to play (but not beat) me at Table Tennis on the platform of your choice...

2010 Christmas Bash

Christmas comes but once a year. As does the Christmas Bash. The poster pretty much says it all I guess. Tickets will be going on sale on Tuesday 30th November at 2:00 pm in the Departmental Office.

Will be fun. Oh yes.

Summer Bash 2010

Yes, it’s that time again. In fact, it is very nearly too late. Because of exam timetabling issues and marking we will be holding our Summer Bash on the very last Friday of the semester starting at 4:30 pm in the department.

We will be based on the Third Floor of the Robert Blackburn Building in Room 310 for Team Fortress 2, Room 312 for Wii Games and Buzz Quiz (plus the food). Outside in the open area we will have Rock Band and we might stretch to Band Hero in Room 304, depending on how busy things get.

 There will also be a "Super Prize Wordsearch" with super prizes.  And a wordsearch.

Anyhoo, If there is anyone left in Hull who fancies a break from packing, then you can get your tickets (priced at an economical 2 pounds each) from the Departmental Office.

2009 Christmas Bash

We will be having a Christmas Bash in the department on Tuesday 15th of December. This will follow the usual pattern, with a few extra surprises.

We will have DJHero, Rock Band (Beatles and Lego), Team Fortess 2, Wii Sports, Dance Dance Revolution, Buzz Quiz, Treasure Hunt, Word Search with Pizza, Pop and Sweeties plus mince pies to eat.

The event takes place in the department, starting at 4:30 to 8:00.

Numbers are strictly limited and tickets will go on sale at 2:30 on Tuesday 8th of December in the Departmental Office. They will cost 2 pounds each.

Should be fun.

2009 Summer Bash

We are having our biggest ever bash on Thursday 11th June. The department now has a licence for Team Fortress 2, and so we will be using this, along with all the usual attractions and even an Unreal Tournament programming competition.

The arrangements are as usual. Tickets will cost £2.00 and go on sale on Monday 8th of June in the Departmental Office at 10:00 am.

The bash will run from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, in room 312 of the Robert Blackburn Building, among other places....

UT Bot Contest

We will be holding a UT Bot competition as part of the Summer Bash on 11th June. You will write C# to control your player, make it find guns and ammo, and also search out and destroy other players.

This contains a sample project, a visualizer program and some notes to get you started. There will be a prize for the best bot on the night.

If you fancy yourself as a programmer, feel free to have a go. Some staff members (including me) have got bots that they are going to have a go with too.
